Current thoughts....
Destination:
Narrowed down several locations due to negative Google reviews. Pete and I navigated towards the location with the most outstanding Google reviews (5 stars out of 5, with 500+ reviewers) and an award from Bride's Magazine.
Chapel of the Flowers in Las Vegas, Nevada (www.littlechapel.com)
-"Tour the location" and look for "La Capella Chapel"
-"Wedding Package" for a Traditional ceremony
+Includes bouquet/ boutonniere; unity ceremony; limousine service; ceremony music; 14 candid ceremony pictures; wedding dvd; live broadcasting via Skype; and 8 hours of Internet Viewing; 1 consultation; and the minister.
Date:
Chosen because Wyndham Grand Desert and Chapel of the Flowers are both available; there will be an annual celebration (at least from Hispanics, and us); it will be a beautiful time of the year to be in Vegas; assuming my acceptance into UNM, we will have enough time for a wedding and honeymoon prior to the semester beginning; and the date popped up in both of our heads simultaneously- coincidence was exhilerating!
5 May 2012 (Cinco de Mayo)
Things I need help with:
- From everyone:
+Give me the date ranges you'd like to arrive/ depart
+Apply for Southwest CC (to earn a free flight) or let me know if you need me to scrounge up a free flight for you.
+Book your flight
-From Dad: I need you to book the Wyndham Grand Desert (once the above data is received) and let me pay for it. As of now, there are several suite availabilities.
-From everyone:
+Thoughts??
Looks beautiful. Let me know if you need anything else. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteBefore I spend time blogging, I'm doing this as a practice! Mom
ReplyDeleteSince this seemed to have worked, I'll go for it! Tell me what music you are thinking of, what colors and where are you registered? Is there anything we can do from here? Love, Mom
ReplyDeleteYayyyy- good job, Mom! You're more tech savvy than you give yourself credit for.
ReplyDeleteWhat music I'm thinking of for what? The wedding music will be provided by the chapel, and the reception is very untraditional, so it boils down to a fancy dinner (provided by Pete and me).
Colors for me and Pete are white. The guests may wear whatever they like- I am telling people to dress as a "normal" wedding guest. So, you would probably be comfortable in something similar to what you've worn as Mother of the Bride in the past.
I should've said this earlier (and maybe thought I did, but must not have)- Please NO wedding gifts. Your travel costs, time, and misc expenditures to make it there are our gifts. We realize this isn't easy for anyone.
THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!!!! Just your asking is very helpful to me. You are on my super-duper "good list" for writing on the blog AND for asking me for help needed!
I think all I really need is some feedback from the family, period. Especially on itineraries. I don't know if flights have been bought, if anyone needs financial help, when anyone is really showing up...I don't know. As you saw my email before, I'm trying to make a tentative itinerary, but no one has responded to that either. The lack of response is frustrating. I think that's all I ask.
I think some have applied for the Southwest credit card and it may take a week or 2 for an approval/or not, then more tickets will be purchased. We are keeping a close eye on flights. Are you working up to the date of departure for Vegas or going to take a couple of days to de-stress? Hope you aren't still putting in 13 hour days, that's not good for your physical or mental health.
ReplyDeleteLove ya,
Mom
We'll be there from Tues to Tues. Dad is getting a rental and wondered if Pete wanted to use it too. No need to rent 2 cars if one will work for both sides.
